Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Talk Assist AI mobile application and related services (the "App"), operated by NUB Tech ("we", "us", "our"). By installing, signing in to, or using the App, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian is aware of and consents to your use of the App. The App is designed for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

2. The service

Talk Assist AI provides:

Real-time, two-way voice interpretation in which an AI speaks on your behalf in the other person's language.
Situation-aware setup, a live bilingual transcript, and end-of-conversation summaries with action items and important info.
Conversation history and the ability to share summaries.
A credit system: 1 credit = 30 seconds of live conversation. Credits do not expire.

3. Accounts & sign-in

You create an account by signing in with Google or Apple. By doing so:

You authorise us to receive your name and email address from the identity provider, used to create your profile.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to it secure.
You must provide accurate information and notify us at talkassist@nubtech.org of any unauthorised use.

4. Credits & purchases

Talk Assist AI uses a prepaid credit model rather than a subscription. New accounts receive a small number of free credits to start.

Billing. Credit packs are sold by the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) under your existing store account. Prices are shown in the store at the time of purchase and may vary by region.
Consumable items. Credits are consumable digital items. Credits spent on a live session are non-refundable and cannot be reversed. Subject to applicable consumer-protection rules, all credit sales are final.
No auto-renewal. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. You only pay when you choose to buy credits.
Refunds. Refunds, where available, are handled exclusively by Apple or Google under their respective policies. NUB Tech cannot process store refunds directly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defraud, or harm others.
Use the App to record, transcribe, or interpret a conversation where doing so is prohibited by law, or without any consent required in your jurisdiction.
Share passwords, PINs, card numbers, or other secrets through the App, or use it to solicit such information from others.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, or bypass or manipulate the credit system.
Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the App.

6. Intellectual property

All content within the App — software, branding, voices, and design — is owned by NUB Tech or its licensors and is protected by copyright. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use. You retain ownership of the conversation content you create with the App.

7. AI interpretation & limitations

Interpretation may be imperfect. Talk Assist AI uses automatic speech recognition and AI translation (Google Vertex AI / Gemini). Transcripts and translations can contain errors due to accents, background noise, or ambiguity, and are provided as-is. Do not rely on the App for safety-critical, legal, medical, or financial decisions without independent human verification. We make no warranty that an interpretation is complete or accurate.

8. Privacy & audio

During a live session, microphone audio is streamed to the AI in real time solely to interpret the conversation and is not stored persistently; only the resulting text transcript and summary are saved against your account. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep the App available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue parts of the App for maintenance, security, or product reasons, with or without notice.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account directly via Profile → Delete account: your account is deactivated immediately and all your personal data is permanently erased within 30 days (see the Privacy Policy). Deleting a single conversation from History removes it permanently. If you cannot access the in-app option, email talkassist@nubtech.org from your account email. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the App in a way that harms other users or the service.

11. Disclaimers & liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

NUB Tech is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including any outcome of a conversation interpreted by the App.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.

13. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the seat of NUB Tech, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
